Join Muscle Powered on the last Saturday in August for a beautiful hike to Marlette Lake. The hike begins from the Spooner Lake parking lot, travels north on North Canyon Road, and continues onto the single-track trail north to Marlette Lake.
Muscle Powered is a Carson City non-profit organization that promotes walking, hiking, biking and trail building. We will pass through a mixed forest that includes pine and aspen as well as chinkapin oak, sage, currents, and other shrubs. We will experience a wonderful scenic view of Marlette Lake, where we will take a lunch break, and then hike back.
Osprey often fish at this lake. This is an 11-mile round trip hike that contains a steady uphill climb, a short descent to the lake, and on return a short ascent before a steady downhill back to the parking lot.
A schedule of all upcoming activities and events can be found at www.musclepowered.org/calendar.
